Environmentally sound and sustainable vineyard practices are at the core of our management philosophy. The SeVein partners and NSM team are active members in Vinea, the Walla Walla Valley Appellation certified sustainable viticulture organization. Driven by absolute commitment to these principals, NSM acquires an in-depth analysis of the biological and nutritional soil components to define necessary soil amendments. In partnership with Quality Compost—located within SeVein’s boundaries—nutrition-based viticulture through composting and green manure crops balances and enhances soil tilth, organic matter, and elemental ratios of macro and micronutrients. Focused attention on soil health is essential to growing healthy plants capable of withstanding disease and pest pressures. It also ensures these vineyards will produce dynamically complex wine grapes for generations to come.
